Exercise 3 - Rough Sketching Rats and Mice

 Please design 3 characters ,1 mouse, 1 large rat, 1 small rat. Please consider age difference with height and width.

3 Pages Rough Sketching-(1 page per character) Rough body shapes and construction. 

Then detail next week set of pages.

Exercise 2- Birds

 

Rough Sketching Birds Character Design Construction

This exercise focuses on rough sketching with an emphasis on shape construction.

The looser you are the better off you will be. Loose drawings will have centerlines and construction lines, otherwise moving to detail will not work without proper shape construction.

Step 1- Gather 2 pages of reference.

Step 2- Create 2 pages of 11 x 17 rough drawings with construction and shape variations, then create 1 page of squash and stretch from your favorite

Step 3- Create 2 pages of variations. Take your favorite construction designs and bring them to one page, find 3 favorite to develop more. Yes you can do more than three. 

Step 4- Light cleanup of thick and thin line, and will then add color or light value. Keep your lines rough and loose. You can still draw over your rough drawings if you like.
