Design a family consisting 6: mom, dad, son, sister, annoying uncle or aunt, and household pet.
You can add extra pets or family members if you like.
Must get ideas approved by Phil......stay simple.
(do not cover up any faces with a mask or a hoodie, or face paint, we have to see the character) If you are an Entertianment Art Students major and producing a portfolio for an animation job, please consider the Medieval time period with gnomes, trolls and fairies. This then ties into Prop Design and the Environment design portfolios giving you a more comprehensive theme-oriented portfolio.
Please stay within your drawing level.
No necromancers or anthropomorphic animals.
Step 1- Think of your theme, time period and gather reference
Step 2- Start with 4 pages basic shape sketches, with characters posed with a horizon line behind them. Keep the posing simple, you will have to sell your idea to executives at Scholastic Media to get it approved to move forward. Please make sure all shapes are rough and their reads are different from each other.
(This is an important assignment, it awarded a previous student with a 4 book children's book illustration deal that I negotiated with Beverly Arce paying her $87,000 for 6 months of work!)
